FicSpark is a home for fan fiction and fan art: the stories that start with “but what if…” and the drawings of the moment a fandom couldn't stop talking about. It's free to read and free to post, with no ads and no algorithmic feed.

FicSpark is a Fanfic Foundation project. The Fanfic Foundation is a non-profit initiative dedicated to keeping fan works free, preserved and celebrated.

What makes it different

• Positive-only comments. Feedback here exists to fuel creators. Unkind comments go to a human moderator, never straight onto your work. How it works.
• Writing and art, side by side. Every artist gets an automatic gallery, and art can be linked to the fic it was inspired by.
• New-writer friendly. A Weekly Spark prompt every Monday, a Writer of the Week spotlight, and no follower counts.
• Your work is yours. Export everything you've written to a print-ready PDF with one click.
• Honest about AI. AI-assisted art is allowed and always labelled, so readers can choose.

Meet Spark

Spark is our mascot, a small living spark of fire who shows up wherever imagination needs a nudge. Spark is a golden flame with violet tips, sparkly purple eyes and a blue feather quill, always ready to help you write the next line. Spark holds the quill on prompt day and celebrates every Writer of the Week.

Supporting creators

Creators can choose to accept small thank-you gifts from readers. Gifts never unlock anything, and every fic stays free to read.
