Summary

A collection of headcanons about Liquidator, including ones that contradict canon!

Bonus: Fanart inside!

Edited and updated!

Notes

Bud's Beagle Boy number is based on the chemical numbers of H2O, aswell as the numbers of the letters themselves. If you look very closely, you can see the number on his jacket pocket.

What do you think? Any you agree with? Any you dislike? Any you're confused by? Any you recommend? Comment!

1) He has a stutter. He used to have a specific accent as a child but worked for years to get rid of it, bading his new accent off of commercials. The trauma surrounding his first appearance made his original accent come back, causing a stutter when he tries to suppress it — unless he mimics those commercials he originally learned from. He feels embarrassed about this and hides it from all but a few, but others have found out.

2) He's secretly a chemistry nerd. He is an absolute genius when it comes to chemistry, but keeps this a secret for a variety of reasons, such as his image/reputation or having a secret weapon.

3) No one dared bully him more than once. When he was younger, people would try to bully him, but he made sure they always regretted it. He was known for both revealing other kids' misdeeds and framing them, getting anyone that bugged him detention or even expelled when at school. He aswell would blackmail people, because that's just who he is.

4) He's divorced. He used to be married to a lovely dog lady, but they got divorced due to his greed/obsession/unethical behavior. Part of him misses her, but he has a new life now. He possibly has a kid with her...

5) He is fiercely loyal, but didn't used to be. Bud Flud's loyalty and service could be bought easily, but Liquidator has (reluctantly) bonded to his teammates enough that he'd pick saving them over money. He doesn't realize this, and might betray them only to save them again due to guilt/loneliness.

6) He's good with kids. He loves kids and is great around them, but tries to keep this a secret so as not to be seen as too soft. The other members of the F4 know this, and have dubbed him the 'Team Dad'. He loves hates this.

7) He feels extremely guilty. Just after mutating, his brain wasn't working quite right, and he didn't connect that what he did nearly killed everyone in St Canard. After having time to get his head on straight (in the cement statue), he realized and became horrified, vowing to never do anything like that again.

8) He's less powerful than he used to be. Just after mutating, he experienced a power surge, giving him nearly total control of all water. After his first defeat, his powers dropped and stabilized.

9) He has a fear of being trapped. Not of small spaces, he loves those so long as he can get out, but of being contained. After how many times he's been turned to stone/put in a jar and just left there, he's become terrified of being trapped. His worst fear is being locked away for a long, long time, with absolutely nothing to do or see.

10) His favorite place to sleep is bathtubs. He doesn't technically need sleep to survive, but he needs to rest in order to focus enough to keep his form stable, and his favorite place to do that is in bathtubs. They feel different than jars (so no bad memories), they can easily contain his full body (no having to hold his form solid), and they're open with an instant escape hatch/drain (he isn't trapped).

11) Negaduck is the one that rescued him from stone. If made solid, Likky's essence will eventually transfer to a nearby body of water, but it takes time. Negaduck, recognizing one of his own enemies, took Liquidator's statue after his first defeat and sped up the process. This is one of the reasons Liquidator agreed to work for him, as well as one of the reasons he keeps working for him.

12) He used to be straight, but now is pan. I don't mean he didn't know he was attracted to more than just women, he actually was straight. After mutating, however, his 'brain' chemistry and biology changed to the point where he no longer cares about gender. Honestly, he only still goes by 'he' because that's what his unmutated self was. In both mind and body, he's technically genderless.

13) He really likes being a mutant. To put it simply, if someone said they could cure him, he'd take it as a threat. He loves being The Liquidator, traveling through pipes and being non-solid, turning to steam and relaxing above the city before raining back down, resting in the ocean and spreading his awareness as far as he can. Likky is who he is, if he turned back he'd be miserable.

14) He's a Beagle Boy. Buddy Beagle wasn't satisfied with the brutish sorts of crime his family got up to, he wanted to do more high class corporate espionage type stuff. So he reinvented himself as 'Bud Flud', going to school in St Canard and training himself out of his accent so no-one would realize the truth. This caused a fight with Ma Beagle, and the two stopped speaking, each assuming the other hated them because they hadn't tried to reconnect. When Bud was declared dead, he didn't let his family know otherwise, thinking they wouldn't care. Eventually, he will reunite with the Beagles.

Wow! A lot of what you say makes a lot of sense and I think it helps me understand why they ship it so much with Bushroot. I did't get it at first. But seeing that they are both mutants, i kinda unstestand how much they relate to each other in the weirdest ways.
I loved your head canons, thanks x giving such insight in The Liquidator!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Really like your ideas regarding Liquidator having a "power surge" in his introductory episode, and Negaduck being the one to free him from his statue form. I have read a lot of your other work so far, and cannot wait to see more from you.

I'm glad you enjoy my stories! This is the nicest comment I've ever gotten 😊.

I've actually posted a new fanfic, and plan to post two more later today.
