Chapter 1: Roadie's Family

Along with Theodore 'Roadie' Road Runner, we have his wife Rhoda Runner and their triplets — Rayne Runner, Ruby Runner, and Rubble Runner.

(Note: the triplets should be the same height as each other)

Being Roadrunners, they all communicate via meep-meeps, other bird sounds, and Toon Signs. Rhoda has a tendency to rhyme when she Signs. The triplets Sign normally when apart, but whenever they're together they take on their mother's rhyming habit.

Let's take a closer look, shall we?

Rhoda

A cheerful, freespirited roadrunner who loves dancing but never knows the steps. She's a bit prone to tripping over her own feet.

(I considered Rythym Runner and Rhyme Runner for her name as well — tell me down in the comments which name you would've picked!)

Rayne

She is simultaneously the least and most likely her dad out of the triplets. She prefers to take life slow, but her own coyote nemesis makes that difficult, so instead she lives fast fast FAST!

Ruby

Elegant, calm, and easily amused, she's in a league of her own and she knows it.

Rubble

A wild, reckless, fun-loving roadrunner who loves ramming into cliff faces at high speeds and running around in circles fast enough to create dust devils — he's oblivious, distraction-prone, and always up to party!

(His leg came out a bit weird at the top, lol)

Lil' Beeper

Not actually related but considered an honorary family-member, this coyote-raised roadrunner is always looking for the next chance to show off.

Chapter 2: The Ones That Work

The ones that I think would work best as actual roadrunner characters.

She feels like she could be Roadie's mom or something. I love her. 🥰

I want so bad to call her Ivy, lol, but that doesn't start with an 'R'. Then again, neither do Lil' Beeper, Beep Beep the Roadrunner, Matilda the Roadrunner, or Harriet Runner from canon, so...

I feel like she'd be Roadie's sister or cousin or something. She's neat.

Chapter 3: The Mess Ups

These are the designs that are messed up in some way or another.

Chapter 4: Technically, There's Nothing Wrong With Them

The ones who have nothing actually wrong with their designs, but don't really work for other reasons. Some of them just don't fit the style properly, some of them aren't roadrunners, and some of them I hate despite liking most of them. Enjoy!

This guy could maybe work as a background character in a large crowd of roadrunners, but I just really can't imagine Roadie interacting with him one-on-one without it looking really weird.

Another that could work well in the background, except I hate her.

Moving on...

I actually love this little guy, and he looks a lot like an actual roadrunner would. But compared to Roadie, he feels too much like a woodpecker or a bluejay to fit. Too bad, really, I think he's cool.

Apparently the roadrunners have been interbreeding with dodos XD

He's just too busy in the design, you know? There's too much going on here, it doesn't work.

Chapter 5: Others

Miscellaneous and unsorted.

This one feels like a queen. I can't decided if the complexity of her design works because of that, or if she should go into the 'Technically Nothing Wrong' chapter. I'm sticking her here until I figure it out.

Again, I can't decide if this one works or not. Either way, I love her design. She feels like she could be the queen's relatively-plain daughter, or a regular roadrunner that just so happens to be beautiful. I don't know. Again, though, I love her. She looks gentle, slow-going, calm, kind, like she loves animals and/or nature in general — a classical love interest character, perhaps lacking a bit in depth but the audience ends up charmed by her anyway.

I'm putting too much thought into this, aren't I? lol.

These two almost work, but something just feels a little bit off with both of them. I don't know. What do you think? Which chapter do they belong in?

I can't decide if she'd work as a young roadrunner or not. Her design might be a little off, you know? Very infectious energy to her, though, I like that. She looks a bit like a dinosaur, lol.

Part of me feels like she works as a baby, and part of me feels like she doesn't. No matter what, however, there's no denying that she's absolutely adorable 😍

Her name should definitely have something to do with rainbows.

This one's hard. On one hand, I'm like yes, she definitely works. On the other hand, she might be too tall and slender to work, and her color patterns are a bit off from the ones I've put in the 'Ones That Work' chapter so far. Then again, her design is close enough to just be the edge of variety, which could be important when designing a species.

I really don't know. Again, this one is hard!
