Teacher: Lynn, what would you do if one of your classmates viciously teased you again and again?
Lynn: Oh, that’s easy, Miss. I’d take a pencil out of my pencil case—
Teacher: To write something to your teacher?
Lynn, distressed: Oh no, I'd hate to get someone in trouble!
Lynn: I'd write the bully a letter telling them how I feel and asking them to please stop. I'd try to find out why they're hurting enough to be such a meaniepants in the first place, and offer to talk to them about it.
Teacher: Oh, how sweet!
Speck: [snorts]
